So It's Wednesday

Good Morning All!

It's Wednesday, which means the week is half over. Yesterday was interesting. My husband had off, but I didn't see him much during the day because he and my son went out to the Arboretum to have some guy time. I saw them around 3 p.m. (they left around noon). After that, took a shower, and off we went to one of the Libraries. Then to the grocery store, and home again for dinner and to sit down and watch "Wolverine And The X-Men" (the cartoon). My husband and I are both "X-Men" fans. Wolverine has made it on my husband's list of "scoundrels" (included on that is Han Solo, Duncan McLeod--"Highlander TV Show", Indiana Jones and I think a couple of others).

Today my husband is back at work, so my son and I have to entertain ourselves. LOL. It's also exercise day, so I'll have to turn on my exercise DVD and workout. (uncoordinated and all!)

Yesterday I managed to do some editing on the first chapter of Conjure A Man; so that's a good thing. (I don't know how strong a chapter it is, but I think it's fun because it's got Delaney's best friend, vampire Caruso in it). It's about 13 pages long. I also did a little writing, but I think I have to change it. But that's part of writing--writing, rewriting, writing, rewriting, etc...,

I had a weird dream. I dreamt that people who were hungry for or craved spaghetti meant that that person had Swine Flu (even if the person who ate it didn't have Swine Flu people would think they did). Very odd. But dreams can be that way. What's a weird dream you've had?

I hope everyone has a good day!

Have a Wacky Wednesday!

HA! Spaghetti. I'll try to stay away from the stuff just in case you're psychic.

Glad you're getting some writing done even on a day when your hubby is around. I don't know if I could have done that. I would have been tempted to go to the arboretum.

Stephanie,

There was no temptation at all to accompany them. It was 95 degrees out and I'm sensitive to the heat (very much so. One time I got so dizzy after just being out for like 5 minutes). I also get cold easily (I know, Texas is the wrong state to be temperature sensitive, but it's home).

Now, if they were going to the bookstore (Barnes & Noble) then I would've been more tempted. Bookstores are my "toy stores".

I was being held hostage and was shot in a dream once. When I heard the gun fire, I woke feeling like I ran a race. It was frightening...So real...

J.J.--

That does sound scary/spooky. Glad it wasn't real! Sounds like you could turn that into a suspense/thriller novel if you wanted to.

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
