A Leap Into February...

Happy February! Okay, for the first time in a while I can say that a month didn't zip past me at lightning speed. I don't know if that's good or bad. Just that January didn't seem to go by quite as fast as most of last year seemed. Perhaps the lack of "zipping by" has to do with the fact that my eldest had a bacterial infection near the end of December and then 2 weeks later had Covid and a week later I had a bacterial infection (different one from eldest). So for awhile there, it was a bit crazy at my house. Luckily the rest of January was pretty healthy. This February has a couple of particularly interesting things about it...for one, there are 29 days this year for this month (most of the time it's 28) so Happy Leap Year! Query news...not really anything I'm ready to report on, so I'll let you know when there is. Writing news:  I have several unfinished manuscripts and after some revision work that I did for like 2-3 months, I'm back to th...

Lovely Louisville Wedding & More!

Happy Tuesday All, Whew! It's been a very busy week: On Tuesday, September 9th husband, offspring, and I boarded a plane for Louisville, Kentucky in anticipation of my eldest niece's wedding. The flight was mostly uneventful (although some turbulence, but nothing serious). We landed at the airport and had to wait to get to the jet way because there was a police car there. Apparently there were two airplanes that had to push back and leave before we could get dock there. It was about 20-30 minutes wait, but then finally we docked and exited the plane. **Warning:  I didn't take very many pictures--sorry!** At the rental car counter there was a huge line, which meant offspring and I had to wait with the bags while husband got our reservation. I was hungry and a bit on the dizzy side, but finally husband got the keys and we went and found our rental (a royal blue  Chevrolet Cruze , not sure what year--anyone own one or driven one?) Husband opted for GPS system since w...

Vacation, Books, Summer, & More!

Happy Wednesday All, Oh my! I'm so behind. Last week, I was up in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at a resort for a family reunion. We flew out to Charlotte, North Carolina on July 14th, rented a car, and drove up to the resort.  Offspring and Husband went swimming at one of the resort pools and hiking in a National Park. I hung out with my family, answered posts on Christie Craig's blog (on July 16th--congratulations to Kathleen O. for winning a copy of All's Fair In Love & Lion . Hope you enjoy it). Thursday we had a baby shower for my brother and his wife. That was fun.  Friday we went out to Dollywood for the day. Offspring and Husband are far more adventurous about rides than I am, but that was okay. I walked through the water that they had misting around for park-goers to cool off. Of course, I probably shouldn't have bothered since later we got totally drenched by a rain shower. However, before that happened, we saw birds of prey (including a bald eagle and g...

The Arkansas Adventure Begins...

Happy Weekend Everyone! I normally don't post on the weekends, but I have a bunch of pictures from our road trip up to see my in-laws in Arkansas, so I thought I'd go ahead and start today. We traveled up a longer distance going up there, but it took us through the Boston Mountains. The roads were narrow, windy, and steep, but the scenery was gorgeous! Check it out... The road sign in this picture pretty much tells you what the road was like: There were places along the road where it was possible to pull over and take pictures. Some of these aren't so pretty (because of the fences) however, my husband got a couple of awesome pics: Anyway, that's the BEGINNING of the adventures in Arkansas. Stay tuned for more... Have A Wonderful Weekend!

Take To The Open Road (Or Skies)

Happy Tuesday All, Monday was a day off--which I needed because it was sort of a crazy day. I hadn't planned to take the day off, but it turned out to be a good idea. I know Fall is coming and that school starts back soon, but Summer isn't the only time people travel . I think this was in Frankenmuth, Michigan I have been all over the U.S.A. (by car and by plane) here's a list of states (off the top of my head, I'm sure I'll miss naming one) that I've been to (and I'm talking about either driven through or actually visited...not changing planes): Texas (San Antonio is fun, and Austin is gorgeous--been out to some of the Hill Country--nice, too) New Jersey  (love Madison and Morristown very pretty areas) Maryland (visited--some really great places there) Washington, D.C.(visited--wear very comfy walking shoes) New Hampshire (visited--very nice) Connecticut  (visited--pretty) Kentucky (visited--a lot of fun) Tennessee (mostly drove...
