Please Be Patient...

Happy Friday All,

My blog is undergoing RE-construction. I've been getting a lot of emails lately from people saying they weren't able to read the blog--that the dark background was bleeding into the white of the posts making it hard to read dark font colors. This year is the first time I've had this complaint. I have no idea what is going on. I had no trouble viewing anything on this blog from my computer (or the 3 other or so computers I've viewed it on) so all I can say is I'm trying to be as accommodating as possible.

I've changed the background design to a lighter design. I plan to continue to use the dark font because it's easier to see on the white background of the blog posts.

I've adjusted the content in the margins--unfortunately, not everything is behaving itself. For some reason, despite the fact that I changed the color to black, when I viewed the blog some of the font coloring is a dark-gray or some color like that. I'm not sure why. I'm not a techie, or a web designer (and right now it's not in the cards for me to have one) so I have to do it all myself.

So please be patient. I'm doing my best to make this as viewable as possible.

Thank you.

Have A Fantastically Fabulous Friday!

A Rose For Your Thoughts?

Happy Monday All,

Okay I'm loving my new background...the header is still something I'll have to toy with, but I love the rose background. Roses are my favorite flower (yeah you couldn't see that coming a mile away LOL).

I've actually gone to a website to check out the meanings of different kinds and colors of roses. Through various ways, I've confirmed most of what this website says.

It's a little blurry but those are roses
this is a picture of my wedding bouquet
Red roses generally mean love and desire, which is fantastic for me since I write fantasy/paranormal romance. (Although, if I find a lavender/purple rose background, I'll probably use that since purple roses mean fantasy).

Anyway, to see what I'm talking about, head over to this website and have a peek. Even if you're not a rose fanatic it's an interesting site.

Roses play an interesting role in romance and courtship. In the fairytale, Beauty & The Beast it's Beauty's desire for a rose that triggers her father to steal one of the Beast's roses and thus angering the Beast.

So what is it about this flower that yells, "Romance!" For me I think the flower is beautiful. I love it's fragrance and I love it has so many meanings, colors and variations.

But what do you think is the reason a rose seems to yell, "Romance!" whenever it shows up?

Have A Marvelous Monday!

New Design!

Hey Everybody,

I'm trying a new design out. I like the background, I don't know if the header works, but after trying other colors out for header it's what I found works best. Every now and again I like to try something new just to see how I like it and how others respond.

Hopefully it's not too big a shock.

Have A Great Day :-)

New Face, Movie Review & Such

Happy Friday All,

Hope you like the new layout. I saw the template on the design feature and I was like "Oooo, I like this one." So now it's part of my layout.

I recently saw Bandslam. It's not your usual teen movie (at least from my point of view).

I got the feeling that the appeal of this movie would be several things:

> Good music. I watched the Special Features and all the actors/musicians play the instruments and sing the songs that are featured in the movie.

>The Ramones were mentioned. I grew up hearing Ramones songs. I love their rendition of Baby, I Love You. (other bands are mentioned...The Clash, U2, The Beatles, etc...).

>Music history/trivia is mentioned. Such as CBGB. This makes it feel more "authentic".

>There's a lot of serious issues dealt with in this movie, including death of a parent.

The movie just feels "grittier" to me than most teen films. I think that's another selling point.

If you're a Lisa Kudrow fan, she does really well in this movie. A nice balance between humor and being serious for her.

Vanessa Hudgens steps into a deep and more serious role (in my way of thinking) than in most of the movies I've seen her in. I think she does a nice job.

I thought overall it was a good movie. I enjoyed it.

In writing news...been working on one of my manuscripts that's not finished and it's coming along nicely. :-)

Have A Fantastic Friday!

July, July, July....

Happy Wednesday! Can you believe we're nearing the end of July? I mean, on one hand it feels like this month has been long, but on ano...
