So, are you all ready? Today I have an official blog book review for you...the very first one of 2017. Pretty cool, huh? I think so, anyway.

This one came about when I requested the ARC of her upcoming book one of her new series. I agreed to do a review in exchange for the ARC (Advanced Readers Copy). 

When March 2017 hits, readers and Kerrelyn Sparks fans will embark on a brand new journey into a Fantasy Romance.

Happy Friday Everybody!

Well, we've done it! Made it through another work week...although, just because it's the weekend doesn't mean my work week ends. If the writing/editing/critiquing/whatever I have to do isn't done, I work on the weekends, too. In fact, I almost work every day unless I really feel bad/exhausted. Otherwise, it wouldn't get done.

Dreams, Fae, & Book Review...

Happy Thursday All,

I'm overdue for posting this, but I plead life and other things as the reason this hasn't gone up. I don't have an assistant, so I probably need to start keeping a log of To Do list for this blog. (Hey there's a New Year's Resolution right there!)

Anyway, I do want to introduce to you all a novel by author Larynn Ford. Since this is a promised review, it's an official blog book review.

Lynzi Lancaster didn't figure herself for a target until several life threatening incidents happen...all in one week. Who would want to hurt her?

Updates, TV, Movies, Writing, & Give Me A Recommendation...

Happy Wednesday Everybody,

Tomorrow the post I mentioned yesterday I'd be guest posting on Erin Bevan's blog will go "live".  I'm looking forward to sharing about my Grandfather's storytelling.

There's a lot going on in my life. As some of my readers know, I'm pregnant with the newest character which will be joining the Averie  Household sometime in 2015. So, there's been a bunch of pregnancy stuff. Luckily so far (please God, let it stay this way) I haven't vomited. I've been extremely grateful for that, especially how bad I felt in the beginning, and how I've had indigestion/acid reflux issues (yes, I do take something for it, no, it hasn't gone all the way away). Sleeping has been up and down--some nights okay, some nights not okay. (And people wonder why I stay up so dang late, well...now I have a good reason, other than the fact I write, and do blogging, and watch TV movies LOL).

I'm still trying to finish Book Three. There's about 20-30 or so pages left. So I'm closing in on the end, but there's still a ways to go. I'm hoping to finish soon. I also hope to do a Book Three cover reveal (with an official title reveal on the same day) in the early part of December--that's my nifty-gifty to you, my darling readers!

Several other authors will be joining me for a special blog post the first week in December. I can't tell you the topic, but I can tell you I'm excited and it's been a lot of fun!

Currently I'm reading an ARC for an official blog book review to also be posted probably in December. Pretty good so far.

I haven't been to the movie theater in so long but there are some movies I want to see. I plan to watch X-Men: Days Of Future Past. I'm thinking about Maleficent. I haven't completely decided on that one. I haven't seen or read The Fault In Our Stars. That's another one I debate about seeing--I hear it's sad, and I'm not sure if I want to watch something sad (especially while pregnant--I cry more easily! I mean, I saw a picture of one of my cousin's babies and totally teared up...do I really want to watch something that's said to be sad?) I'm not into erotica, so I'm not following all the news about Fifty Shades Of Grey; however, I am curious about the new/upcoming Star Wars Episode VII movie. I'm not sure whether or not Big Hero 6 strikes my fancy, but I might see it at some point.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing and have you seen any of the ones I haven't seen and have any recommendations for me? I love movies, but I don't get to the theater much, but I do watch them on DVD/Blu-Ray.

As for TV, I'm faithfully following Season 4 of Once Upon A Time. I'm looking forward to Melissa & Joey being back and I want to watch Young & Hungry when it returns. I've been enjoying some of the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel (yes, I know, it's early, but I love Christmas stuff, so I'm cool with it).

Anyway, be sure to let me know what shows you're enjoying and give me some good movie recommendations! I love fairy-tales, romance, and comedy.

And yes, I've seen Nine Months, and What To Expect When You're Expecting and Father of The Bride II (to cover pregnancy movies). I've enjoyed all of them. I happen to own Nine Months; a friend had me watch it on DVD when I was pregnant with my eldest offspring.

So, darling readers, weigh in! Don't be shy. I'm watching a lot of TV movies and movies on TV that I've seen before, but I'm open to some new ones. Based on what I've told you I like, what do you recommend?

Return To Shadow Falls...

Originally I had planned to post this on Friday, but I've got several things going on in my world, so I figured I'd post it now.

Today I have an official blog book review for you...

Wine, Tea, & Mystery...

When I wrote yesterday's post I didn't realize I would finish the novel I was reading in time to do a review this week, however, it appears I underestimated myself.  So today, I have a special treat, an official blog book review.

I've been doing official blog book reviews for Laura Childs for sometime now. I've enjoyed reading her novels and telling you

all about them. This time, she sent me the published version of the novel and not the ARC (which is okay) so the novel I'm about to tell you about is already available.

Theodosia Browning, owner of the Indigo Tea Shop is back in the newest Tea Shop Mystery...

While attending a wine tasting with her friend and shop colleague, Theodosia, Drayton, and the rest of the guests at the Knighthall Winery event, are treated to an unfortunate event. The moment Jordan, the owner of Knighthall Winery, goes to open the barrel of the newest wine, everyone is aghast when Jordan's son, Drew's body pours out of it along with the wine.

What should have been a fun evening turns into an investigation of murder.

Drayton, who is friends with Jordan, joins Knighthall Winery's owner in begging Theodosia to put her sleuthing skills to work to solve the mystery.

However, where does she start? The stepmother, Pandora, who has her eye on a new deal with a Japanese distributor? The manager of

Knighthall who is ready to jump ship? Or the girlfriend, Tanya, a model who didn't have a good relationship with the stepmother?

Aside from those closest to Drew, there's a myriad of other people. There's a number of businesses who have had their eye on the Knighthall Winery property, as well.

The plot thickens the further Theodosia gets involved. The question is, is it possible to solve the mystery or will it become a cold case?

Review Policy

Dear Readers & Fellow Authors:

Based on some current events (where I was asked to do a review and had to say no) I decided it was time to post a review policy. In the right hand margin of my blog (if you arrow down a bit) you will see my review policy, complete with a list of authors I regularly do official blog book reviews for.

I didn't want to do this. I hate making rules and telling people "No, I can't help you." I didn't need rules before because nobody who I couldn't say yes to asked me for a review (in fact, official blog book reviews are generally because I approached the author myself and we worked out an agreement).  But, given what I said in the previous paragraph, it had to be done, especially now. I'm incredibly busy with the Trilogy and other writing projects, and work for critique partner(s), plus my real life.

Hopefully this will clear up confusion I've encountered.

Also, I apologize if you're an author who is not on the list. It's not meant as a personal offense, it's just the list of authors are ones that I've talked to personally and worked out an agreement with.

Who's The Gilty One?

Kylie's Story Comes To An End...

Happy Monday All,

Yes, I know the time-stamp on my blog post says Sunday, but this is actually meant to be Monday's post, I'm just posting it a little early. Part of the reason being because I actually have a moment and the other part being that this weekend has been rather rough. Offspring got sick with I don't-know-what, and so Husband and I were dealing with that all weekend. Once again, the Husband proved why I call him my real life hero (he was quite heroic, on more than one occasion, and trust me, I got all mushy talking to a friend of mine about it).

But setting that unpleasantness aside...

Author C.C. Hunter returns with the final installment of Kylie Galen's story is jammed packed with the return of ghosts, Mario--the evil vampire, and all our friends from Shadow Falls.

Kylie thought going to her species' hideout would mean feeling less of an outsider, but even worse than camp, the other chameleons regard her with fear and suspicion. I am SO embarrassed. In all the busyness that followed my friend's death, I forgot I had an official blog review. Fortunately I remembered in time for the release date (which is Tuesday, March 5, 2013--depending on when you're reading this is either today or tomorrow).

Mystery author extraordinaire, Laura Childs is at it again, this time with a brand-new addition to her Tea Shop Mystery series...

If Theodosia Browning owner of the Indigo Tea Shop didn't have her hands full before, she does, now. As boutique owner, Delaine Dish's, maid-of-honor, she's responsible for anything and everything Delaine will come up with. Including keeping the bride-to-be calm.

However, as a storm of epic proportions brews in Charleston, and the power goes out, it looks like this wedding day will have more showers than sunshine....

Especially since nobody can find the groom.

Theodosia, being the dutiful maid of honor, goes down the hall to knock on Dougan Granville's door.

A Tattoo Across The Heart...

Happy Monday Everybody,

I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a pretty good one. Offspring had a game and that went well. Friday night I went out with some of my gal pals, and that was fun.

Recently, a fellow author and chapter mate of mine, Shauna Allen, had her first novel released, a contemporary romance, and you're in luck, readers, because today I'm doing my official blog review of her novel, Inked By An Angel!

Kyle is determined to make it on her own. No more being daddy's little princess. She's going to carve out her own place in the world of numbers--also known as accounting--and find her place in the world. The only problem is, without clients, how is she supposed to pay her bills? She can't bear to crawl back to her dad's plush firm where she's basically invisible. She has to make it work.

So, while her first inclination is to run as fast as her fashionable heels will take her, she holds her head high while she waits for her meeting with Michael, at his place of business...a tattoo parlor.

Jed can't believe it when Kyle walks into his tattoo parlor. What is someone like her doing in his domain? She doesn't fit in...at all. With her hair tightly pulled back, and her pearls, and suits, there's no reason for her to be there.

Nothing can be more frustrating than getting these two opposites together. But Michael, an angel on matchmaking duty, is determined to do his best. He can't fail Father again. He has to get Kyle and Jed together.

But will Michael be able to accomplish the goal in spite of Kyle's engagement, Jed's vindictive ex, and a whole lot of wrenches thrown in for good measure? You'll just have to read it for yourself and find out.

As for my personal opinion? Well, all I'm going to say is that I couldn't put it down!

More Than Eggs At Stake

Oh my goodness! It's been so long since I updated, and I hope you all will accept my apologies. There is much to discuss, and I hope to pour it out this week and in the coming weeks.

But first and foremost, I have a special treat for you all...an official blog review.

Today's morsel is from mystery author, Laura Childs' newest Cackleberry Club Mystery...

Eggs aren't the only things being whipped up in the Midwest.

While Suzanne, Petra, and Toni busily prepare for a meeting with the a banker in their little town of Kindred, murder is being cooked up in the snowy banks behind the Cackleberry Club Diner.

One minute the three women hear snowmobiles, the next minute the wintry evening is still and silent. Feeling curious, Suzanne duns warm gear to head out only to find said banker decapitated from a wire stretched out across the very path his snowmobile was traveling.

Can You Hear The Whispers?

Hope everyone got a chance to read the review I posted yesterday.

Now, here's for the 2nd book review I have this week for you:

Welcome back to Shadowfalls! Things are busy what with the camp being turned into a school...new students, and teachers...and a ghost.

It's the ghost that has Kylie all discombobulated...okay maybe not just the ghost, because let's face it, finding out she was a ---- (I'm leaving that blank for those who haven't read Taken At Dusk, or who haven't finished it).  is really something... and it's all well and good to know what you are, but what is the extent of her powers? Her limitations?

Never mind the fact that the ghost has ---'s face (again, leaving that blank for those who haven't read or finished Taken At Dusk, because it's important!) If it wasn't for that, the ghost would just be another ghost in a long line of ones that keep showing up wanting Kylie's help.

But beyond that, Kylie wants to reconnect with her grandfather and aunt. Not only that, there's voices calling out to Kylie from the woods. But should she obey the voices or Burnett, who has forbidden Kylie from entering the woods?

Plus, there's the little problem that Lucas, who is supposed to be her boyfriend, keeps going MIA on pack business. Then there's Derek, who up and confessed his love for Kylie, which was so not what she needed right now.

What's a girl to do?

Kylie faces some tough decisions. But, who's to say she can't kick butt while doing so? (I can't give away why I'd say "kick butt" because I think the decisions she makes in this book--book 4 of the series--are going to make the 5th book one heck of a read).

And putting all that aside...something else isn't right. One of the new teachers is just this side of creepy, and the other, seems so completely lost that Kylie's heart bleeds for him. Who is a friend and who is an enemy? And who killed the three girls Kylie keeps seeing her visions trapped beneath the earth?

The Mail Is A Bit Unusual

Happy Monday All,

This week is special because there are TWO official book reviews.

Here's today's treat:

Mardis Gras season in the Big Easy is a time of fun and revelry. At least, it is until television reporter, Kimber Breeze ends up hanging from the Hotel Tremaine's balcony where she had been interviewing local business owners.

Carmela Bertrand, owner of Memory Mine is the first to find Kimber. Calling her detective boyfriend, Carmela tries to help with crowd control, but with folks tripping over each other to escape the scene, it's near impossible.

Carmela thinks Raleigh, Kimber's camera man might have caught something on tape, however, when she gets the DVD all it reveals is someone dressed as the clown character in an opera.

To make things even more confusing, Carmela begins receiving strange post cards signed by the dead Kimber Breeze.

Who's behind the murder and the post cards? Is it Kimber's boyfriend, the business man? Is it the weird new shop owner who sells creepy oddities? Or could it be Kimber's ambitious assistant who has been waiting for her chance in the limelight? Or could it be, by chance, Kimber's financially strapped brother?

Either way, Carmela wants to know and soon...especially after things turn personal when someone puts on a hit on Carmela's house!

It's All Texas's Fault!

Happy Tuesday Everybody,

I know there's been a lot of silence on here lately. I've had some computer and blog trouble, so I put off posting for awhile so I could maybe determine the reasons for all the problems (I'm still working on that). There's also been a lot happening in my life (both good and not-so-good) so I've been pretty busy. I'm doing okay, though.

Today I have a treat for you--something I haven't done in awhile--an official blog book review! (P.S. I'm hoping to post book cover art on here, soon, there's a couple of things have to confirm before I can do that).

So let's get a move on this:

In spite of all this, he wouldn’t mind getting involved with the pretty redhead he found rummaging around under his desk, but anything more than just a fling with Zoe is statistically a really bad idea as far as Tyler is concerned.

But when Zoe tells him her wild story about being the missing Bradford granddaughter, and the threatening phone calls, Tyler thinks it might be something worth looking into. He becomes even more convinced when someone tries to shoot Zoe in her apartment. Besides, it's a perfect set up. He can do his job, and maybe even start something casual with Zoe. After all, she won’t be in Texas for long. It’s perfect.

But things go south when Tyler’s heart betrays him. And as the mystery gets more and more convoluted, Tyler realizes he may not have a choice as to whether or not Zoe runs back to Alabama with his heart or if he keeps it.

Mystery, romance, bad guys, good guys, a battered cat named Lucky, and our old friend, Bud--the English Bulldog who sleeps in a coffin--are all here…and they’re all blaming the heat, romance, and mystery on Texas!

A Murder Most Fishy

Happy Monday All,

A busy week gave way to a busy weekend. My family from out-of-town made it safely home, and I approached the weekend a bit overwhelmed. However, other than the fact that Sunday afternoon offspring threw up, it was a nice weekend (prayers for offspring to get better would be wonderful and much appreciated!)

Since Offspring was sick Sunday afternoon, I'm not sure how often I will be able to check in during Monday, however, I will do my best. Now, onto something happier and much more fun...an official blog review!

That’s what Theodosia Browning, owner of Charleston’s Indigo Tea Shop finds herself doing when she discovers the dead body of her ex-boyfriend, Parker Scully floating in a tank at the Neptune Aquarium during a private party the tea shop is helping to cater.


While the police department first deems it an accident, things don’t add up for Theo. There’s no way Parker would’ve drowned in that tank. Plus there’s the marks on his hands…aren’t they defense wounds?


Theodosia makes up her mind that no matter what the Police Department thinks, or what Detective Tidwell says, she’s going to investigate.


But when she becomes the target of a black truck trying to run her off the road, and her dear Aunt Libby the target of a bee attack (which considering the circumstances of the bees’ attack, looks intentional), will Theodosia manage the solve the mystery of who-done-it in time to save her own life…or is she next?

Once again, Mystery author, Laura Childs mixes the comfort of a hot cup of tea, the sweetness of a pastry with mystery, crime, and a hint of suspense that’ll keep you guessing until the end.
