Spread Smiles And Sparkles

Happy Friday All, As those of us who are Christians remember Jesus's death on the cross today, and then on Sunday celebrate His resurrection, a thought occurred to me. I'm a self-described eccentric. At least, some people have thought of me as that way, and to be honest, I like being quirky. Sometimes you gotta have a bit of quirkiness to keep your spirits up. To that end, I believe in trying to spread smiles and sparkles wherever one goes. What do I mean? Well, it's rather simple, really. Either you know someone who is this way, or you're this way yourself, but they can't seem to find anything positive, like, hardly ever. They tell you all the things wrong or they're having a horrible day. You try to point out something positive, even something small, and they find a way to make it negative. I've met people who are this cynical. I don't know if they're aware of it. For me, their cynicism and negativity drags me down. I'm not the sort of pe...

An Immortal Of An Update...

Happy Friday One and All! Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted on here since July. I sincerely apologize for my absence. Life is crazy and crazy is life.  First things first: If you haven't liked & followed my Facebook author page , you'll want to do that ASAP. Why? Because I'm doing something called The Immortal Tour. What is it? Glad you asked! The Immortal Tour is a play off of the title of my YA series, I mmortal Dreams ( Divine Love, Astral Love, Immortal Love, and Perfect Love ). It's sitting down on Facebook Live and interviewing authors I consider Immortals. So far I've gotten Kerrelyn Sparks' posted to my page. Due to technical difficulties, I've had to reschedule Avery Flynn, but I've got Robin Covington appearing on October 25th, and Victoria Vane on November 8th, plus more to come! This is an ongoing event, but trust me, it's not your usual interviews! You, the reader, will get a chance to be involved, and of course, ask...

You Mean It Isn't That...?

Happy Monday All, We're getting closer to Romance Writers of America's National Conference (aka "Nationals" or "RWA18"). It's interesting to me how the longer I'm in the genre, the more of the stereotypes and comments that come my way. For instance, last year, I was in the elevator going up to get something from my hotel room, and this person who was attending another event said to me, "Oh, you're with that book thing." Now, I played it off. I mean, technically it is a "book thing", but this illustrates some of what we romance novelists encounter. Nationals are so much more than just a "book thing". We have a ton of writers there, sure, but we also have people in other capacities. There are agents, editors, bloggers, sometimes cover artists/models, and well, it wouldn't shock me if someone from film showed up...oh wait, they already did... PassionFlix . Darling readers, any of you who have followed me (o...

Talking About Learning Disabilities/Challenges Part 3...

Happy Tuesday Everybody, Thank you for joining us on this blog series. Today is the last one. The comments and response has been wonderful--thank you for that as well! There are young people in the world struggling with learning differences (sometimes called learning disabilities) who may or may not feel they aren’t as good as those who don’t have these disabilities/challenges. The three of us—Bethany Averie, Ryan Jo Summers, and Christie Craig—have all faced learning disabilities/difficulties and based on our personal experiences, and what we see in the world today, were inspired to share our own stories with you. We’ll be posting each author’s Q&A style on all our blogs. Today is the last day with author Christie Craig's interview up. Our wish is for you teens and young adults to never be afraid to dream big. In a world where less than someone’s definition of perfect can mean the difference between acceptance and rejection, we want you to stand up and pursue...

Talking Learning Challenges/Disabilities Part 2

Happy Tuesday Everybody, We're continuing the Learning Challenges/Disabilities blog series.  For those just joining us, I will include the preface I had up for last week. Last week was Bethany Averie. This week will feature Ryan Jo Summers, then the next Christie Craig.  Our wish is for you teens and young adults to never be afraid to dream big. In a world where less than someone’s definition of perfect can mean the difference between acceptance and ...

Talking Learning Challenges/Disabilities Part 1...

Happy Tuesday All, This is the beginning of a very special blog series I'm doing with two other authors. Please be respectful of all those involved. Thank you! We’ll be posting each author’s Q&A style on all our blogs for the next few weeks, starting with Bethany Averie. The next week will feature Ryan Jo Summers, then the following week will be Christie Craig. The same interview will appear on each author’s blog, for example—Bethany’s interview will be on her own blog, Ryan Jo’s, and Christie’s for the first week, the...

Updates, New Releases, & More...

Happy Tuesday Everybody, Status report:  Book Three, Immortal Love (of the Immortal Dreams Trilogy) is over halfway written. It's not yet as far along as I'd like, but it's making progress, which is good. Unfortunately sinus/migraine headache issues, and some other stuff got in the way this past week of me getting much writing in, so I'm trying to do much better this week. I'm relieved to tell you my headaches are better. Book Two of Immortal Dreams Trilogy:  Book Two, Astral Love , will release in the Fall of this year. From the schedule I received from my publisher it looks like some time in October (Ooo! Looks like a birthday present for moi. What do you all think?) Facebook:  There is now a Facebook page for the Immortal Dreams Trilogy. If you "Like" the page you will be able to keep up with updates. Things that will be exclusively posted there! (Such as Teaser #2 is already posted there) and cameo appearances from characters Laney an...

It's Always Hotter When You're In Texas...

Happy Thursday All, Today is the one-year death anniversary of my friend, Sarah.   However, given that she  was also a fan of Christie Craig, I can't think of a better day to post a book review of one of Christie's novels. So I dedicate this review to Sarah. I think she would've liked this novel. Christie Craig ’s Hotter In Texas series kicked off with Dallas’s book, Only In Texas , continued with Tyler’s Blame It On Texas , and it finishes with a bang with Austin’s Texas Hold ‘Em . Austin is a man on a mission.  He and his buddies, Dallas and Tyler of the Only In Texas P.I. firm were framed for a crime they never committed. Swearing vengeance on the evil-doer, Rafael DeLuna, the trio vowed to bring the criminal to justice. In order to do that they need info on DeLuna’s whereabouts. Roberto—a man with his own agenda—has been their informant, but Austin is concerned. He’s not sure whether or not the can trust Roberto. So... Austin h...

All She Wants For Christmas...

Happy Tuesday All, Wow, it really has been a long time since I updated. I was working on fixing up my new novel to send out, and had a bunch of other obligations so my life has been packed lately. I still have a lot on my plate, but I wanted to take the time to give a heads up on a few things. (By the way, new novel has been sent out, yay!) I'll be guest appearing on another blog (scheduled for Dec. 3rd), I'll do my best to update the blog so you can get to the post. It'll have a bunch of my favorite Christmassy traditions in it, so stay tuned. If you're following me on Facebook or Twitter, I'll definitely have the links on there. I need to update my website--the last time I tried there was some sort of problem and it didn't go through.  In the meantime, the ever-talented Christie Craig has a new Romance out just in time for the holidays, and today I'm going to give you my official blog review of it: Savanna has had a run of bad luck lately. When ...
