An Afternoon With Your Favorite Hero/Heroine

Happy Tuesday All, Before I get into today's post...don't forget...today is Kerrelyn Sparks' release of Wanted: Undead Or Alive and her launch party (which I talked about in yesterday's post ). They're the stars of novels. They're the ones who you wonder "What will happen to them next?" Oftentimes they're the "good guys", although sometimes there's shades of gray. We're talking heroes and heroines! Everything from contemporary genre to paranormal, there are heroes and heroines in pretty much every novel. Some of my favorite heroes were super-heroes, like Spider-Man and Super-Man...yes, Batman is cool, too. Some of the ones from the contemporary genres were unlikely heroes, like Simon in Debbie Macomber's The Perfect Christmas . Prefer a little mystery in your life? Check out Theodosia in Laura Childs' Tea Shop Mysteries . As in real life, sometimes a contemporary genre hero is a lawman, like in Christie Cra...

In honor of the fallen real life heroes/heroines of 10 years ago... Please take a moment of silence to remember and/or pray.

Calling All Heroes!

Happy Monday All, What do you look for in a hero? Someone larger than life? Super-Man, maybe? *EDIT as of 9:37 a.m.:  (I'm talking about FICTIONAL heroes. As Tess points out in the comments there are real life heroes that make this world a better place, and they have my respect, admiration and gratitude for what they do, but for this post I'm talking about heroes in novels, I apologize for being unclear). One thing I was told about heroes is that they should be "larger than life".   Heroes do have to be believable but they aren't likely to necessarily be someone you'd meet walking down the street. I don't know about you, but I've never run into Edward Cullen (or any other vampire) as I walked out of my house (maybe I wasn't looking hard enoug...

Hint, Hint, Hint

Happy Monday Folks, I'm going to drop another hint or two about this year... I got big plans for a contest to celebrate 25 plus followers on this blog. I can't give out much details at this point, but it would behoove you (another great word, "behoove") to check up here often...for I may be running the contest this week or next week or the week after or we'll-see-when (but it'll be soon )...you just never know. I'm "hammering" out the details at the moment. But trust me, when I say soon, I mean very soon. I have a date set in February for an author interview (not telling who it is or when, you'll just have to come back and find out *grins*) This author wants to run a contest in conjunction with the interview, so the day of, you'll want to be on here to comment so you might be able to win the prize the author is offering. I'm working on finishing up a book for a book review (can't tell you who or what, yet). And I was told ...
