No NYC But Other Great Stuff For Me...

Happy Thursday Everyone,

Wow! BrazCon was amazing! For those of you who made it out, thank you so much. It was fun and there were incredible costumes (check out my author Facebook page for pictures).

Important update: I will NOT be going to Romance Writers of America's National Conference in July (New York City). I was going to, but then some stuff came up and it turned out I couldn't. I'm looking at next year, which that one (2020) will be in San Francisco, so maybe I'll make it there. I've never been to San Francisco and I'd like to go.

I finished writing my adult shifter novel and it never changes. It always feels surreal and like "Wow!" when I write "The end." The next thing is edits and critique partner crits, and then I'll be shopping it around. But, it's exciting to have another book written. I do plan a sequel, so what happens at the end isn't the end of that story altogether. I already have the next book started and I've got books 5 and 6 in the Immortal Dreams series to write, so I'm still going forward with more writing.

The other thing coming up is that I'm planning on having an author email list (newsletter). I'm working with my consultant on that and I'll let you all know when it's ready. If you want to sign up, I'll let you know how to do that when I can. For those of you who signed up at BrazCon, you don't need to worry about re-signing up when it's up and running. We have your emails and names and you'll be subscribed right away. I'm working on some ideas for fun things for that. So that'll be fun when it's all set up.

As always, I've got a bazillion (okay, not quite that many, but several) books to read, but I have started in on my TBR (To Be Read) pile so hopefully I'll be able to make some headway on that.

Recently my husband and I rented Bohemian Rhapsody. We liked it. The acting and costumes were well done. I was really happy for Rami Malek getting the Oscar for it. He did a fantastic job. Have any of you seen it? What movies are you looking forward to seeing?

Emotional Roller Coasters & News...

Happy Sunday All,

Normally I don't update on the weekends, but lately I've been super busy during the week and I'm about to be even more busy.

There's been a lot of emotions going on lately as I went through the holidays missing my deceased friend, Sarah. It's not over yet, because on February 20th, it'll mark 1 year since her death.

Today I went over to her and her husband's apartment to help him and Sarah's mom go through Sarah's things. There were some moments of laughter, some tears, and in some cases, emotionally distancing myself from the whole thing just so I wouldn't breakdown and cry too much. I was allowed to keep several items that had belonged to Sarah, which was a comfort. Currently, as I write this, I have a small, very soft teddy bear that I was given sitting on my lap. There's things going to other friends, that will be sorted more as time goes on.

However, after the emotionally exhausting day, a wonderful thing

happened:

I signed and finalized a 3-book contract with my publisher, Soul Mate Publishing for my New Adult (NA) Paranormal trilogy!

The titles have also been approved and they are (in order):

Immortal Dreams Book 1: Divine Love
Immortal Dreams Book 2: Astral Love
Immortal Dreams Book 3: Immortal Love

Each novel will be released separately. I don't have released dates, yet, but keep an eye out for updates.

Good News Busting Out Everywhere!

So much to tell! First of all, if you haven't read my Facebook page, then here's my big news:  Surreal has been contracted by a publisher! It's so awesome!

I'm not the only one with good news, either. My chapter mate, and talented author, Janet Nash, just had her novel, Powerless Consent, released through Soul Mate Publishing. It's available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble as well.

Also, if you're interested in Fantasy, check out Raven Raye's recent release (released in October), Broken Prophecy. It's also Soul Mate Publishing release. You can find it on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

Miscellaneous Monday

Good Morning Folks,

First off I want to send congratulations to Stephanie. She just got a contract from an agent. You can go to her blog and wish her congrats. YAY FOR STEPHANIE! (She gets a major shout-out today).

Today is another pretty day. Clear, blue sky, and chilly in the house LOL. Yesterday we couldn't find our TV remote. My husband must have found it this morning because when my son and I got up there it was right in front of the TV (and it wasn't there last night). Yay! (My husband also gets a shout-out).

My uncle had a scan and found out there's cancer activity in his brain, so prayers and thoughts for his remission from that would be much appreciated. (Thank you).

Last night I worked on chapter 2 of Conjure A Man, smoothing down some rough edges that were bothering me. I think it's getting better. I'm beginning to understand more of what I want in there and Delaney's character. When I first wrote it I felt like she was kinda weak, but wasn't sure what to do, when I made another pass at it I was still frustrated, now it seems to be ironing out. YAY!

I've been reading Susan Wiggs' The Maiden's Hand. So far it's pretty good. It's the 2nd in a 3-book series. I haven't read the first one of the series. I got this book in the gift bag when I was at Todd Stone's Novelists Boot Camp Workshop (along with 3 other books that I have yet to read).

This month Elizabeth Pina's book Learning To Let Go is released. Please check out her website to get more details. (I sat next to her at the workshop, real fun and sweet. The book coming out is an Inspirational Romance, and she's working on a Suspense Romance that sounds good).

For Twilight fans everywhere The Twilight Saga: New Moon movie is going to be released this month on November 20th. The movie looks like it's going to be really good. (Been checking out the previews on The Twilight Lexicon).

I declare today :-) Find Happy News Day :-) So please share some happy news in the comment section (thank you in advance). (Part of the reason is because there's so much good news, I'd like to keep it up and also because I'm worried about my uncle and some other things, so good news is a good way to keep one's spirits up).

Also, I asked this question over the weekend: What are you all currently reading? (something besides your own manuscripts).

You all have big plans this week? My in-laws are in town so we're probably going to see them a couple of times this week.

Saturday is busy for me--got an NWHRWA meeting then that evening I'm attending a dinner (no it's not in my honor LOL).
