It's Reading Time

Happy Monday All,

Recently I read Susan Elizabeth Phillips' Ain't She Sweet? I know what you're thinking...it's the same thing I think each time I read the title...that song by the same title. The book was funny and fun. I enjoyed it.

So what have you read lately that's funny or fun (or both)?

Tomorrow I'm posting a book review--some of you know what it is--the rest of you, here's a BIG hint:  it has to do with the author who's interview I posted last week.

I've been looking forward to this review for awhile. I won't go into the reasons (I'll save that for the review), but I'm telling you...well, you'll see.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Have A Marvelous Monday!

Hi, Bethany! I recently found a copy of the anthology "Faeries Gone Wild" because of the story by MJ Davidson,(as you know, one of my favorite writers and people). Her lead story was enjoyable as always, as were the others, esp. "Dust Me, Baby,One More Time" by Michele Hauf. I had a very good time with them.

This is one of my all time favorite books. I had just experienced the Margie Lawson workshop sponsored by WHRWA and when I read this book I just kept asking myself, "How did she do that?" Later I went back with a highlighter and marked all the places she used visceral response to show emotion, among other things. Great writer. Great book. June Faver

June,

Thanks for dropping by.

Susan Elizabeth Phillips definitely has a great capacity for illiciting a reaction from readers, which makes her writing good. I liked "Ain't She Sweet" quite a bit...when I finished it I had "warm fuzzies". Any book that can leave me feeling that way is one I'm happy to recommend :-)
