Need A Helpful Hint?

Before I get into today's topic, two things:

1--I was made aware that yesterday William Graham put out a new novel entitled, Sometimes, There Really Are Monsters Under The Bed available on Kindle and Nook. 

2--Do you watch the Food Network? Have you ever seen the Food Network Challenge show? While writing this post it came on and it was Romance Novel Cakes was theme. It's interesting to see the different perceptions people have of Romance Novels. One contestant wanted to take a more tragic approach as opposed to the Happily-Ever-After. By the way... Romance Writers Of America President, Dorien Kelly was one of the judges.

Now for our feature presentation:

Every writer (no matter who you are) needs that break at one time or another. Whether it happens when they sign that contract with an agent and/or editor, or when they find something that assists them in their journey as a writer. The two websites I want to mention today do just that. They offer support, encouragement, assistance, and opportunities for writers.


Two writing friends of mine can be found on MuseTracks--Stacey Purcell and Jennifer Bray-Weber. This site offers articles, opportunites to pitch to agents and information.

I haven't given this website as much attention as it deserves. But, I'm going to try and make up for that now. Diane Holmes works tirelessly to help authors who are working on pitching and querying. There are so many opportunities at Pitch University thanks to Diane's work.

I am having a great deal of trouble staying logged in...
I like a happily-ever-afer, total escapism romance novel, although there is something to be said for a reality check sometimes...it depends on the story...it depends on the author.

Right you are. But generally those who do not have a happily-ever-after ending aren't considered Romance Novels. Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" is not even considered a romance, even though the romance is very promient. It's considered a tragedy because they die at the end (Whooo-hoo, look me putting my high school senior English to good use!) Hope Blogger behaves for you, soon. Thank you for dropping by :-)

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Does anyone remember the song If I Had A Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies ? I can't remember when or how I was first introduced to this song, but it's a fun song. So, how about if you had a million dollars? What would you do with it? Of course there's the responsible things to do with a million dollars--pay off debts, and such like that. Then there's the question of whether or not you give to charities, and how much. But, suppose you answered all those questions and you still had quite a lot left; what would you do with it? Maybe I'd go to Disney World. I've wanted to go, and I've never been able to. Or, perhaps I'd go to Germany and England, and Belgium (three of the countries my ancestors are from). It's All About August..

  Hi Everyone! End of August is coming up, and thus, it's time for a monthly update from yours truly. Currently, I'm waiting on some responses on queries for Sugar & Frost . There's been a bit more interest since #UnhingedPit and #questpit, so that's great. I love this story so much, that I'm happy with other people get interested. As far as I'm concerned, it's a fun read. I call it the "book of my heart" because it's just exactly something I'd pick up as a reader and cuddle up with a comfy blanket in a chair, couch, or in bed, with something hot to drink and just enjoy. I also dedicated it to my siblings, so there is a personal aspect to it, too. Other manuscripts:  Moonrise Pack: Shifter Secrets (YA Fantasy, wolf shifters, sweet romance) is in edits--I finally sat down and started working on it. Spotlight On Author: Loretta Wheeler

Happy Tuesday Everyone, There's a gem of an author I've had the privilege of coming across...I'm talking about my friend, Loretta Wheeler. She's a sweetheart and very talented author. I enjoyed her YA Paranormal novella, The Pan Man immensely. And, she also writes Romance. So without further ado, come into my parlor and meet Loretta Wheeler: Me:  In your YA novelette, The Pan Man , you mention Pan's looking for his long lost soul mate. What made you choose Pan out of all the Greek/Roman gods and goddesses? Loretta:  I chose the Greek god Pan, because of the connection with the music. I found later on in the story, (my stories take over and write themselves usually) it applied even more than I realized because of the band's name.
