Merry And Bright

Happy Monday All,

Traditionally speaking, Christmas goes on for 8-12 days (depending on which tradition you're looking at). As a Catholic, I get to enjoy the Christmas Season for more than one day...although, most things have gone back to normal on my end.

I hope you all had a great Christmas Day. Mine was very relaxing. We had gone to Mass the night before and so we enjoyed the morning opening family gifts and just hanging out. My husband and offspring got me a Barnes & Noble Nook and I'm looking forward to getting a couple of books on it. I also got the entire series by Shanna Swendson (Enchanted, Inc.; Once Upon Stilettos; Damsel Under Stress; Don't Hex With Texas) so I've been reading those and enjoying them all over again. My sister (I come from a large family and we get assigned names of a sibling or spouse --not our own spouse--to get Christmas gifts for) she got me one of the Shanna Swendson books and my mother and father got the other 2 for me. My sister also got me two books my Lynne Hinton (I haven't read her work before) called Friendship Cake and Christmas Cake. So I have a lot of reading to do!

I worked a little on one of my manuscripts that's in the process of being written, so that's good. Got some other ideas playing around in my head for it.

2011 is right around the corner and I can hardly believe it. Life seems to go faster when you're an adult. I remember when it seemed to take forever to get to Christmas, now it whizzes by.

So, how was your Christmas Eve/Day? Do you celebrate the Christmas Season for more than one day? Are you looking forward to 2011? What did you get for Christmas? Feel free to share in the comment section!

Hope you have a great week :-)

Have A Marvelously Merry Monday!

Is it still Christmas? It feels like it's over, sadly, especially since I have to go back to work tomorrow. :-(

Stephanie,

You've heard of the 12 days of Christmas right? There's definitely an octave of Christmas. So no, not quite over. Plus there's always New Year's. :-)

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
