Updates News & Read All About It

Howdy On A Thursday,

Just got my copy of Laura Childs book, The Teaberry Strangler. I haven't gotten very far into it, yet, but don't worry, I will. I own and have read all the others in the Tea Shop Mysteries and Laura knows I'm a loyal fan of hers :-)

I'd like to have more interviews for y'all to get an "inside" look into the talented heads of those out there, but for now, the only other interview planned isn't until May. So...I've got a couple of ideas of a couple of authors to email to ask if they'd be willing to take pity on me and appear for an impromptu interview on my blog.

You will get to see the progress on the "Manne-Vamp" story Ryan and I are working on together. Ryan's got some more details I'm sure he'll share sometime in the near future and in return I'll share them with you.

I worked on some edits for Surreal on Wednesday afternoon and plan to do some more.

For all you "Twilighters" the next movie comes out June 30, 2010 and from the first trailer looks pretty cool.

Robin McKinley has a new book coming out in November titled Pegasus (which looks pretty interesting).

Have you all seen that trailer for the new movie based on the books of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid? Anyone read the books?

I know that Alex Flinn's Beastly is being turned into a movie and set to release in July of 2010. (Book was awesome by the way!)

So, I've got a question for you: What book would you like to see become a movie (that isn't already one)?

Have A Thrill-Filled Thursday!

The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, definitely!!! Those would be the coolest movies ever.

Marsha,

What genre is that?

Shannon,

For some reason that title rings a bell, but I know I haven't read it.

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
