Book Review: "Learning To Let Go" (book by Elizabeth Pina)

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

Well, yesterday I finished Elizabeth Pina's Learning To Let Go.

Genre: Inspirational (Christian Romance)

Number of Pages: About 216.

Publisher: White Rose Publishing

Elizabeth has a very nice balance with Christianity and the character's every day life. The characters are those I could see myself coming across (even see a bit of myself in the female main character, Emma). There is a kind of conversion story in there, but it's a gentle sliding into deeper faith. The story is not any specific Christian Denomination and doesn't get into too much doctrine, so, there's a sense that any denomination could read it and see something of their own faith in there.

I ended up really liking the main characters, Keith and Emma and believing in their personalities and story.

The romance was sweet and made this hopeless romantic go "Oh, that's sweet!" (well, at least in my head).

There was also a couple of funny lines in the dialogue (which, for me is always a big plus--I love it when books make me laugh with their humor).

Elizabeth Pina has affirmed that she would do an interview for this blog (Yay!), so I'm going to be writing up the interview and emailing it to her. At this point, Christie Craig's interview will be closer to May when her new novel, Shut Up And Kiss Me comes out, but she's still on for the interview (Yay!)

Have A Terrific Tuesday!

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
