Take A Trip Down Memory Lane...

Happy Wednesday All,

Do you remember some of your favorite childhood books? The ones that you read over and over and still could read again?

There's a few that come to mind for me. One such series is the Betsy-Tacy Books by Maud Hart Lovelace. Maud based her characters on real life counterparts (and sometimes more than one) and the happenings on things that happened in her life and around her. I didn't know this until they reprinted them and added a history section in the back of the books. All I know is, growing up, I read them over and over and pored over a bunch of the pictures. I didn't get to read the last one, Betsy's Wedding until I was probably in high school because I couldn't find it. There's even a Betsy-Tacy Society, which is also something I didn't know until I was older.

Another book which comes to mind is Cheaper By The Dozen by Frank B. Gilbreth and Ernestine Gilbreth Cary. There's been movies made based on this book and there's even a sequel to the book called Belles On Their Toes by the same authors. (I've read both books, and I like the first book best). Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt star in movies based off the books, although, not the actual stories from the books (still good movies, though).

So, what are some of your favorite childhood books?

Have A Wandering Wednesday!

The entire "Little House on the Prairie" series (by Laura Ingalls Wilder). My Dad read them to me as a little girl, and then, as I learned to read, he and I read them together. Then I read them on my own, and read them...and did I mention read them, over and over and over again!

Jessica,

My sisters love those books, too. It's great to find books we love so much that we read them so many times (and it's a great compliment to the author). Authors, (including myself) are greatly touched/flattered/delighted when someone says "I love your work!" We may love the stories we write, but when others enjoy our work that's one of the best feelings in the world :-)

It's Worth A Fortune

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Does anyone remember the song If I Had A Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies ? I can't remember when or how I was first introduced to this song, but it's a fun song. So, how about if you had a million dollars? What would you do with it? Of course there's the responsible things to do with a million dollars--pay off debts, and such like that. Then there's the question of whether or not you give to charities, and how much. But, suppose you answered all those questions and you still had quite a lot left; what would you do with it? Maybe I'd go to Disney World. I've wanted to go, and I've never been able to. Or, perhaps I'd go to Germany and England, and Belgium (three of the countries my ancestors are from). Travel around seeing family and friends I don't see often. There's all kinds of possibilities. So, what about you? What would you do with a million dollars? Have A Tremendous Tuesday!

It's All About August..

Hi Everyone! End of August is coming up, and thus, it's time for a monthly update from yours truly. Currently, I'm waiting on some responses on queries for Sugar & Frost . There's been a bit more interest since #UnhingedPit and #questpit, so that's great. I love this story so much, that I'm happy with other people get interested. As far as I'm concerned, it's a fun read. I call it the "book of my heart" because it's just exactly something I'd pick up as a reader and cuddle up with a comfy blanket in a chair, couch, or in bed, with something hot to drink and just enjoy. I also dedicated it to my siblings, so there is a personal aspect to it, too. Other manuscripts:  Moonrise Pack: Shifter Secrets (YA Fantasy, wolf shifters, sweet romance) is in edits--I finally sat down and started working on it. I'm not very far along in the editing, yet, but hopeful about polishing it. I had made a poster for it for #PosterPit since they allow W...

Spotlight On Author: Christie Craig

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Sorry about the delay in getting Christie Craig's email interview up. Normally I can just copy and paste interviews from my email into my blog, but this time my blog would NOT let me paste the interview! So everything has to be done manually, which takes longer. Anyway, let me introduce you to Christie Craig: I met her through the NWHRWA , which we're both members of. She's a real sweetheart. Funny, fun, and makes you feel comfortable (you don't feel shy or uncomfortable because she has a very hospitable presence about her). She's also very helpful, offers great advice and encouragement (I know this from experience, she's been very encouraging to me). Christie is a multi-published author of both fiction and nonfiction. Her works include things like Divorced, Desperate & Delicious and her up-coming non-fiction (with elements of fiction) work, Wild, Wicked And Wanton: 101 Ways To Love Like You're In A Romance Novel ...due out this ...
