Pep Talk

Howdy All,

Well, I thought for Monday I'd focus on encouragement. I mean, I post words of encouragement up on my blog daily, but I think recalling certain things that encourage us also helps.

I'm reminded of the words from the movie, The Water Boy, where that one character says: "You can do it! You can do it!"

Or Home Depot's commercials, "You can do it, we can help." (although, how Home Depot can help with writing--nothing comes to me off the top of my head, but still...)

How about The Little Engine That Could? "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can."

One of the members of the NWHRWA said that everyone should enjoy writing. That it's important that it stays fun. I agree with her. If you're not having fun, then it's hard to write.

I mean we all have those days where you run into writer's block, but it doesn't mean you can't find some way to have fun.

Even if it means getting up and walking away for a bit. Maybe even picking up a book that you love...and just letting your imagination go its own way for awhile.

So...anyway... YOU CAN DO IT! YOU CAN WRITE IT! GO FOR IT! GO WRITER GO!

Have A Meritorious Monday!

Marsha,

Actually, no I wasn't, but if I had pom-poms that would've been a good idea LOL

You're welcome :-)

Enjoying the process is one of the most easily forgotten things, but perhaps the most critical.

It's Worth A Fortune

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Does anyone remember the song If I Had A Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies ? I can't remember when or how I was first introduced to this song, but it's a fun song. So, how about if you had a million dollars? What would you do with it? Of course there's the responsible things to do with a million dollars--pay off debts, and such like that. Then there's the question of whether or not you give to charities, and how much. But, suppose you answered all those questions and you still had quite a lot left; what would you do with it? Maybe I'd go to Disney World. I've wanted to go, and I've never been able to. Or, perhaps I'd go to Germany and England, and Belgium (three of the countries my ancestors are from). Travel around seeing family and friends I don't see often. There's all kinds of possibilities. So, what about you? What would you do with a million dollars? Have A Tremendous Tuesday!

Spotlight On Author: Loretta Wheeler

Happy Tuesday Everyone, There's a gem of an author I've had the privilege of coming across...I'm talking about my friend, Loretta Wheeler. She's a sweetheart and very talented author. I enjoyed her YA Paranormal novella, The Pan Man immensely. And, she also writes Romance. So without further ado, come into my parlor and meet Loretta Wheeler: Me:  In your YA novelette, The Pan Man , you mention Pan's looking for his long lost soul mate. What made you choose Pan out of all the Greek/Roman gods and goddesses? Loretta:  I chose the Greek god Pan, because of the connection with the music. I found later on in the story, (my stories take over and write themselves usually) it applied even more than I realized because of the band's name. I won't mention the name of the band in here, because it's part of the surprise ending. Me:  You're mostly known for your Romance stories. How would you describe your writing style? Hot, suspenseful, sensual, sw...

It's All About August..

Hi Everyone! End of August is coming up, and thus, it's time for a monthly update from yours truly. Currently, I'm waiting on some responses on queries for Sugar & Frost . There's been a bit more interest since #UnhingedPit and #questpit, so that's great. I love this story so much, that I'm happy with other people get interested. As far as I'm concerned, it's a fun read. I call it the "book of my heart" because it's just exactly something I'd pick up as a reader and cuddle up with a comfy blanket in a chair, couch, or in bed, with something hot to drink and just enjoy. I also dedicated it to my siblings, so there is a personal aspect to it, too. Other manuscripts:  Moonrise Pack: Shifter Secrets (YA Fantasy, wolf shifters, sweet romance) is in edits--I finally sat down and started working on it. I'm not very far along in the editing, yet, but hopeful about polishing it. I had made a poster for it for #PosterPit since they allow W...
