Health, Reading, Etc.--Or, Something Called "Life"...

Happy Friday Everybody,

I apologize for the lack of posts for Wednesday and Thursday. I still have to sit down and brainstorm blog ideas. Last week and this week family members have been sick and I'm fighting allergy/health issues of my own (nothing serious, just annoyances).

I'm working on finishing an ARC for an official blog book review in March (I have THREE for March. I've finished 2 of the ARCs and this is the last one). Then I have another official blog book review to schedule in April and I have to read that book, too.

These are some good stories that are coming out, folks! I'm excited to talk about them, but it has meant that I've been very busy, too (if not for an official blog review, but to look up when something is coming out so I can be sure to read it when it's released).

I'm also in the process of brainstorming for a WIP (Work In Progress). The manuscript is started, just have some ideas to play around with--plus some other things working in the back of my mind.

Pandemonium, Lauren Oliver's sequel to Delirium comes out on February 28, 2012 (not next Tuesday, but the following). Delirium was a truly unique novel (you can read about my impression of the novel here).  I interviewed author Lauren Oliver in November of 2011Pandemonium looks like it's going to good!

What's going on in your world?

Have A Fantastic Friday!

First, Congrats,Bethany! Great news on your ARC's and all the work you've done!
My computer went to bed a week ago Wednesday seeming fine, but t would not wake up on Thursday. My compter-guy calls himself the PC Doc and apparently, he needed to do a Windows transplant. The man is handling fund-raisers for a familyfriend who is in a coma and had sick family members, so I did not get it back for a week, then, it needed adjustments , so I just got it really running welll this afternoon; I feel like I have been cut off from all civilization!
I have had all the grandkids a lot while my oldest son is training out of town and my other son's boy has been here with a bad case of strep. There is a particularly nasty strain going around, according to his doctor. His staff ordinarily does not catch strep , but 3 are down and a medical student that was with them last week is in the hospital with it.
I hope the rest of us avoid it and that you and yours get and stay well.

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I...
