Oh, Yes, That's Awesome!

Afternoon Folks,

I know I'm posting rather late in the day, but I couldn't come up with a fun post until now. I have a couple of things of interest to share today:

Today those who drop by Nathan Bransford's blog will find out he's going to have a book out eventually (the link will take you directly to the post about his book). That's pretty cool. We'll have to keep an eye out for the story in the coming years. (I don't know the release date).

This afternoon I went to read my younger brother's blog regarding the house he's bought and is fixing up with help from his fiancee. I was so tickled because there's a phrase on there describing the work going on that follows up with the fact that "incoherent threats to the roof, rafters, drywall, wiring, and tools" had happened. Talk about awesome wording. I love that "incoherent threats..." that's gotta be awesome. It's one of those things you can imagine in your head. It's something you can relate to (maybe even have experienced yourself).

In any case, it was a rocking good phrase and I had to share. My brother and his fiancee's fortes are in music and musical composition, but apparently there's some incredible writing going on, too.

So, what about you? Have you seen a phrase recently that just made you sit up and grin? Something that struck you as great imagry? Please share, and don't forget to credit your source :-)

Have A Thrill-Filled Thursday!

I can't think of any good phrases I've heard lately but your brother's was really good. Perhaps you have another writer in the family?

Regina,

If you must know the majority of us could be writers (including my dad). My mother is a poet--she's had a little boooklet of poetry published (I think more than one). She mostly does religious poetry and it's quite good. She's also an English Major and used to work as a Librarian years ago when she and my dad were first married.

I'm not sure where anyone can pick up her poetry or how available it is, but I know she's been published. I'm quite proud of her. She's an amazing woman (and not only because she's a poet and published, but for several other reasons, as well).

The thing is, other than my mother, I'm the only one seriously pursuing a career in writing. The rest of them have other interests and demands.

I just think it's cool that so many of us keep up with friends, family members, and others in our lives via blogs!

It's Worth A Fortune

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Does anyone remember the song If I Had A Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies ? I can't remember when or how I was first introduced to this song, but it's a fun song. So, how about if you had a million dollars? What would you do with it? Of course there's the responsible things to do with a million dollars--pay off debts, and such like that. Then there's the question of whether or not you give to charities, and how much. But, suppose you answered all those questions and you still had quite a lot left; what would you do with it? Maybe I'd go to Disney World. I've wanted to go, and I've never been able to. Or, perhaps I'd go to Germany and England, and Belgium (three of the countries my ancestors are from). Travel around seeing family and friends I don't see often. There's all kinds of possibilities. So, what about you? What would you do with a million dollars? Have A Tremendous Tuesday!

It's All About August..

Hi Everyone! End of August is coming up, and thus, it's time for a monthly update from yours truly. Currently, I'm waiting on some responses on queries for Sugar & Frost . There's been a bit more interest since #UnhingedPit and #questpit, so that's great. I love this story so much, that I'm happy with other people get interested. As far as I'm concerned, it's a fun read. I call it the "book of my heart" because it's just exactly something I'd pick up as a reader and cuddle up with a comfy blanket in a chair, couch, or in bed, with something hot to drink and just enjoy. I also dedicated it to my siblings, so there is a personal aspect to it, too. Other manuscripts:  Moonrise Pack: Shifter Secrets (YA Fantasy, wolf shifters, sweet romance) is in edits--I finally sat down and started working on it. I'm not very far along in the editing, yet, but hopeful about polishing it. I had made a poster for it for #PosterPit since they allow W...

Spotlight On Author: Christie Craig

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Sorry about the delay in getting Christie Craig's email interview up. Normally I can just copy and paste interviews from my email into my blog, but this time my blog would NOT let me paste the interview! So everything has to be done manually, which takes longer. Anyway, let me introduce you to Christie Craig: I met her through the NWHRWA , which we're both members of. She's a real sweetheart. Funny, fun, and makes you feel comfortable (you don't feel shy or uncomfortable because she has a very hospitable presence about her). She's also very helpful, offers great advice and encouragement (I know this from experience, she's been very encouraging to me). Christie is a multi-published author of both fiction and nonfiction. Her works include things like Divorced, Desperate & Delicious and her up-coming non-fiction (with elements of fiction) work, Wild, Wicked And Wanton: 101 Ways To Love Like You're In A Romance Novel ...due out this ...
