Fangs Or Fur?

Happy Thursday All,

Near the end of this month Kerrelyn Sparks will have a new release out and in April C.C. Hunter will, too. Both of these authors write paranormals (Kerrelyn writes Paranormal Romance and C.C. writes YA Paranormal).

I got to thinking about all that and decided to get you, my dear readers, involved in a discussion:

If you could choose which type of being your significant other was, would you choose werewolf or vampire?

In some stories, werewolves can turn into their wolf self anytime they please and in others, only during the full moon. In almost every case they have extra powers of some nature. Sometimes it's just extra strength, sometimes it's other things.

Vampires have a myriad of traits, depending on which author you read. In some books they have speed, strength, and hearing. In some stories, vampires never sleep, in other stories they sleep during the day. In some stories any kind of silver hurts vampires, and they burn up in the sun, in others silver and sunlight don't do anything to them.

In a lot of stories there are good werewolves and vampires that try to protect humans and bad werewolves and vampires that try to hurt humans.

Keeping all these things in mind, which one would you choose? (And if you already have a significant other, if you could choose which type of being they were, would you choose vampire or werewolf?)

Have A Thrilling Thursday!

Vampire. Clothing issues for werewolves are a pain...:)

William,

LOL your comment made me smile! You have a point...although, in some stories werewolves' clothing just magically disappears and reappears and you have to suspend disbelief for the sake of magic.

Thank you for dropping by :-)

This has come up, Bethany, and I can't imagine 'chosing' to be either, more drawbacks than advantages!
Werewolves generally have more sympathy from me,(the 'traditional, under-the-curse,full-moon kind).Their lives are so 'normal'otherwise, they remain humans and vulnerable.Vampires, although, also 'under-a curse' always seem so jaded; their humanity seems to get suffocated.
OK,I have obviously put waaaay too much thought into this!
Have a nice day...no full moon tonight,anyway!
Bethany,
My current heroine in the novel I'm polishing has both!
She is old fashioned and rather reserved. Both guys are Alpha types and don't want to share...at first. Yet, she is each one's soul mate. Which one should be doomed to be without her?
As she gets to know each and yes, fall in love, it's next to impossible for her to choose. Talk about conflict and sexual tension!

Carla,

Werewolf all the way, eh?

Thank you so much for dropping by!

Tonette,

LOL, so hubby would get more sympathy from you if he were werewolf rather than vampire. I can see your point, though.

Thank you for dropping by :-)

Francine,

Yes, that IS a conflict for your heroine...but I was talking about YOU personally. Which one would YOU choose if you could choose your husband to be one or the other?

I deleted your other posts because they were duplicates. As my note says, all posts go through me before they are published, this has cut down on some of the issues people were having with Blogger and the comment section.

Thank you so much for dropping by!

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
