Happy Wednesday Everybody, Don't forget to plan to attend this year's NWHRWA Lone Star Writers' Conference on Oct. 5, 2013:

Weekend, Fun Books, New Releases, & Such...

Happy Tuesday All, I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend, and found something fun to do. My husband, parents, and I went to an Italian restaurant to hear author, Raymond Benson , play the piano. Not only is the man a multi-published author, but he's a very accomplished pianist. We had a great time hearing him play, and I got to visit with him, his wife, and a few of my chapter mates afterwards. My family and I also had a nice dinner at the restaurant. I got to introduce my chapter mates to my family, which was fun, too. Next week is super-duper busy for me, so I'll probably won't be posting any blog posts. I'm working on revisions for my YA novel, and working on the companion/sequel for All's Fair In Love & Lion , on top of everything else going on. I expect the 2nd round of edits for AFIL&L soon, too. (After all, July 10th is getting closer!) While I'm busy with all these many things, here's some books to keep you happily o...

It's All About The Romance...

Happy Monday All, Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty good. Relaxing.  What about yours? I don't know how many times I've mentioned I'm a hopeless romantic (probably at least twice every year since I started this blog, right? So, I started in around 2009, so 4 years, times 2, equals 8). So by now everyone knows I am. Although I don't call it "hopelessly romantic",  I call it "helplessly romantic" because I can't help myself. I'm drawn to pretty much anything romantic. Movies, music, books, dates with husband. Yep. There's a movie that the Hallmark Channel put out called How To Fall In Love . In it they talk about whether or not old fashioned romance is dead. I don't think it is. I think if you look hard enough, you find it. Sure, you might have to look harder in some places than other places, but it's there. (It's a sweet movie, and I really enjoyed it...some good dating/personal advice, too). The...

New & Upcoming Releases For Your Summer Reading Enjoyment...

Happy Thursday Everyone, Thank you for the prayers and positive thoughts for offspring and I. Offspring is doing better--and I'm working on getting better. There's been several new releases lately and I've been utterly remiss in posting about them, so here we go: In no particular order: Author pal of mine, Wareeze Woodson's debut novel, a Historical Romance, Conduct Unbecoming A Gentleman was recently released. You can find it on Amazon.  I did announce when C.C. Hunter's YA Paranormal final book in Kylie's Shadow Falls series, Chosen At Nightfall. I did a short review of this one. Teri Thackston put out a Paranormal Romance, Wait Until Moonrise , available in E-Reader format.  J.D. Faver has a new Romance, The Reluctant Rancher available through Amazon.  Contemporary Fantasy Author, Shanna Swendson   has her newest Enchanted Inc. book available in print (I don't know if it's available on E-Reader yet. Last I saw it...

Post Mother's Day & Updates...

Happy Tuesday All, Daffodils were my maternal grandmother's favorite flower Yes, I know the time stamp says Monday, but given that it's after 9:00 p.m. when I'm writing this, I figure I'll set it up to be Tuesday's post. Hope all the Mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend! Mine was pretty good. Spent time with two dear friends of mine. We went out for dinner and hung out. It was a lot of fun.  Sunday I went to church with my family and there was a special blessing for Mothers, so that was very nice. Me and my family saw my own mother later in the day. She's one awesome, awesome lady, so it's always great to see her! She's always been a tremendous source of comfort, encouragement, sound advice, and support. I've learned so much from my mother, so it's great to celebrate her. My husband, offspring, & myself gave her a gift that was a tie-in with All's Fair In Love & Lion (she's read one of the drafts back ...

Updates, Swag, & Other Writing...

Happy Thursday All, First all, thank you for all the Facebook love! I really appreciate it. (To check out my Facebook Author page, click here ). It's great to be able to connect with y'all there. Also, if you want to drop me a line, you can email me . I'll be ordering bookmarks for All's Fair In Love & Lion shortly. Also, I plan to do a giveaway with a fun swag item sometime in the future (haven't set a date for that, yet--but once I get those details figured out, I'll let y'all know). I can't believe in just 2 months it'll be out! I really am thrilled.   Basic story line for All's Fair In Love & Lion :  Sasha Brighton is a high school English Teacher (she teaches Juniors) and she always wanted her own Prince Charming. However, she figures reality isn't fairy-tales. That is, until Monroe Dubay, a shapeshifter of sorts, steps out of her dreams and into her life.  I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. :-)...

My Life As A Romance Novel (Or, Happy Anniversary To My Real Life Hero)

Happy Wednesday All, Today is very special. Because today is me and my Real Life Hero's wedding anniversary.  Our story begins many years ago... Sometime around 11 years ago, Real Life Hero walked into my life. It was a late January evening and I was at a church sponsored young adult group. He caught my eye with his personable ways, and how handsome he looked in his black leather jacket (by the way, he doesn't have that leather jacket--he had to get a new one, and he still looks hunky in black leather jackets). However, I didn't think of having a relationship with him because I was with someone else. We had nice conversations, but I wasn't going to be disloyal to the other guy. Well, the relationship with the other guy fell through (and no, it wasn't because of Real Life Hero, there were a lot of other issues with that relationship and honestly, ex and I became better friends than we were romantic couple).  Hero and I maintained a friendship, and he asked me...

A Little Taste...

Happy Monday All, Wow...I know, it's so very long since I gave a real update. Things are heating up (in a good way). I'm gearing up for July 10, 2013 when All's Fair In Love & Lion is released (YAY!) Yeah, it's still 2 months away, but there's several details. In other news...the companion sequel to All's Fair In Love & Lion has a new title (originally I was calling it Inflamed , but I felt like that didn't really describe the book, so I came up with a new one, which I will reveal later). It's coming along and I like the direction it's going, so hopefully I can finish it up reasonably quickly. I really want to get through initial edits and get all fixed up as soon as possible. I sent a basic synopsis to my editor and she wants to see it when I'm done. So we'll see what happens with that one. What can I tell you about AFINL&L? Well...let's see it's a Romance novel...there's aspects of fairy-tale in it (no, Mon...

Please Be Patient...

Happy Friday All, My blog is undergoing RE-construction. I've been getting a lot of emails lately from people saying they weren't able to read the blog--that the dark background was bleeding into the white of the posts making it hard to read dark font colors. This year is the first time I've had this complaint. I have no idea what is going on. I had no trouble viewing anything on this blog from my computer (or the 3 other or so computers I've viewed it on) so all I can say is I'm trying to be as accommodating as possible. I've changed the background design to a lighter design. I plan to continue to use the dark font because it's easier to see on the white background of the blog posts. I've adjusted the content in the margins--unfortunately, not everything is behaving itself. For some reason, despite the fact that I changed the color to black, when I viewed the blog some of the font coloring is a dark-gray or some color like that. I'm not sure ...
