East Coast Adventure -- Part 2

Happy Tuesday All,

My adventures on the East Coast began on Saturday, June 2, 2012. We got lost around the airport area, but ended up finding our way out and then to the hotel.

Coming from a pretty much flat surface to hilly roads and scenery was an adjustment. I've been on the East Coast before, but it had been several years. The scenery, even by the road, was lovely. Just watch out for those hidden driveways!

The lawns had this grass that was so soft. So different from the St. Augustine grass a lot of lawns in the south have. I loved it! There were trees everywhere, too. Just gorgeous. The weather all week didn't get much above 80 (80 was really the last couple of days. Most of the week it was in the lower 70's!) The humidity was very low. There were times I wished I had brought my sweater. Not only that, but, I half expected to see Christmas trees, since generally weather that cool only happens in the Fall and Winter down here.

Can you see the ray? It's in the back!

Monday we went to the National Aquarium in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. There, for the first time in person, I heard and saw a kookaburra (unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of the bird).  But we did see an eel. We also saw some coral, rays, and lots of other sea/land animals.

We got to  see the rays being fed and some other fish being fed. Apparently we got there at just the right time!

Want to hear more about my adventures? You'll have to wait for the next post!

Have A Tip-Top Tuesday!

Bring it on! If I can't get to Texas, at least you went to MD...that's where I was born. I have not been in that neck of the woods in over 30 years, although my husband is not far from there inVA as I type...tell me everything!

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
