Quite Quotable!

Happy Tuesday All,

It's so rainy and gloomy today, which is not cool. The rain is good, but the gloom? Not so much. So we're going to have to find ways to brighten things up in spite of the grayness outside.

Yesterday, a writer-buddy of mine (and fellow blogger), Marsha, posted a fun post with quotes. So I thought today I'd pull some of my favorite quotes from various sources and post them here:

"Give me this moment. This precious chance."--Dr. Jekyll from the musical Jekyll & Hyde (song:  This Is The Moment).

"Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?" "If there are, we'll all be dead!" -- Inigo and Fezzik from movie, The Princess Bride.

"I'm too sexy for my fangs."-- Gregori, from Kerrelyn Sparks' book, Sexiest Vampire Alive.

"We would call Monroe something else, except we don't want to want to insult donkeys." -- Bastian "Bast" Cantrell from my novel, Surreal.

"I have better things to do than to sit here and listen to you quote yourself." -- John Adams  "No, that was a new one." -- Ben Franklin, from 1776.

I would include quotes from Christie Craig, except I don't have them all memorized (yet)! She has some FUNNY ones.

Anyway, what are some of your favorite quotes?

Have A Tip-Top Tuesday!

Even my husband is in on it!Pricess Bride is often quoted around here, as is Harry Potter,Pirates of the Carribean, Star Trek...the classics...shoot, Bethany, we have even started quoting Once Upon a Time already!

Tonette,

Sorry I was slow publishing your quote. Tuesday was incredibly busy! My husband only worked half a day, so while he was the resident parent for the offspring, I ran errands.

Oooo...ONCE UPON A TIME has a good quote, too: "Magic always comes with a price." Enough to give you shivers, huh?

Thank you so much for dropping by and for your comment, again I apologize for being slow--but I enjoyed reading your comment when I got it :-)

We have so many we use in our house!!! "Bright lights, bright lights," Gremlins. "Inconceivable." The Princess Bride. "Heavenly God, heavenly God." Bowfinger. I could go on for days!!! Great topic, Bethany!

Tess,

Sorry It's taken me soo long to get your comment posted. I've been laid up in bed with a virus and this is the first time I've been on the computer in nearly 3 days (I'm still fighting it, but I think I'm getting better).

Glad you liked the topic and thank you so much for dropping by and for adding those fun quotes :-)

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
