Jam Packed & Cruising Along

Happy Tuesday & November Everybody,

Wow! It's November ALREADY? What happened to October? I blinked and it was gone (does this mean I need to stop blinking, because that's really hard to do).

There is a lot going on lately--getting things out to those who requested them and playing around with other novel ideas (I still have to outline one that's been in my head for about a year, and I haven't been able to get it out on paper the way I'd like. The idea is good, the title is probably my best title idea yet and a lot of people like the story idea and title; it's just the execution that's lacking at the moment, but I intend to remedy that).

I'm also trying to catch up on my reading, so that's been another thing. I grab anywhere between 2-10 pages here and there.

I've learned I'm both a "pantser" and a "plotter"--I have to have a decent idea of what I'm doing and where I'm going, but enough room in that plan to let whatever inspiration hits me carry me.

Also, a relative of mine is doing a really cool thing called Movember. You can read all about it on their website. But I'm extremely proud of my relative for doing this.

A little birdie--okay it was Will Graham emailed me--said he's got a new novel out called PRODROMOS (prequel to Spider's Dance) you can find it on Amazon Kindle and Barnes & Noble Nook.

I hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween. The Write By Bethany household celebrated with relatives and it went off pretty well. We're now gearing up for Thanksgiving and Christmas (although I started my Christmas shopping next month--yes, I start early. I come from a BIG family and you got to plan ahead LOL).

Did anyone dress up for Halloween?  I didn't dress up. I know, total party pooper--but I did help out with a Halloween Carnival, so I wasn't completely a stick in the mud.

Have A Tantalizing Tuesday!

Don't stop blinking, for Heaven's sake. It just might all turn into a blur, like it did for me. lol

I can't believe Halloween came and went. We had one trick or treater come to the door and I had a ton of candy ready to go. I guess people stay away from apartments. That's kind of why I can't wait to have a house. Halloween is my holiday.

Movember...I thought that was a typo for a minute and then I went to the site. Yeah, very cool.

RM--

Yeah, I don't think I'll quit blinking any time soon LOL

My parents' house didn't get a lot of Trick or Treaters at first, then a whole slew of them near the end. They actually only had a little bit of candy left when they decided to close down for the night.

Yep, Movember. I haven't really looked at the site, but my relative talked about it and it sounded really good.

Thank you for dropping by :-)

Some years ago I made an over-blouse out of bright,patchwork-looking Halloween material and I usually wear that to hand the candy out.If it's cold, I often wear a black turtleneck under it.A couple of years ago,I picked one up that has an orange jack-o-lantern embroidered on the collar.I sometimes add a witch's hat or my old bat diddly-boppers, but skipped them this year. AND I always wear a crucifix my goddaughter gave me many moons ago... better safe than sorry!

We live in the woods in Maine, so all we got were nine Halloweeners, and they were all relatives. I do love the holiday. I lived in an apartment complex once. We had so many kids I had to go out two more times for more candy the first year. I miss it.
I'll head off to Movember.

Tonette,

Sounds cool! The blouse sounds pretty. You are one crafty woman--sewing and painting your house. So much creativity! Best wishes on all your projects and thank you for dropping by :-)

Roni,

Wow, Maine? I've never been to Maine (although I've been a lot of places on the East Coast). Yes, do check out Movember. It's really cool what they're doing. Thank you so much for dropping by :-)

It's Worth A Fortune

Happy Tuesday Everyone, Does anyone remember the song If I Had A Million Dollars by Barenaked Ladies ? I can't remember when or how I was first introduced to this song, but it's a fun song. So, how about if you had a million dollars? What would you do with it? Of course there's the responsible things to do with a million dollars--pay off debts, and such like that. Then there's the question of whether or not you give to charities, and how much. But, suppose you answered all those questions and you still had quite a lot left; what would you do with it? Maybe I'd go to Disney World. I've wanted to go, and I've never been able to. Or, perhaps I'd go to Germany and England, and Belgium (three of the countries my ancestors are from). Travel around seeing family and friends I don't see often. There's all kinds of possibilities. So, what about you? What would you do with a million dollars? Have A Tremendous Tuesday!

Spotlight On Author: Loretta Wheeler

Happy Tuesday Everyone, There's a gem of an author I've had the privilege of coming across...I'm talking about my friend, Loretta Wheeler. She's a sweetheart and very talented author. I enjoyed her YA Paranormal novella, The Pan Man immensely. And, she also writes Romance. So without further ado, come into my parlor and meet Loretta Wheeler: Me:  In your YA novelette, The Pan Man , you mention Pan's looking for his long lost soul mate. What made you choose Pan out of all the Greek/Roman gods and goddesses? Loretta:  I chose the Greek god Pan, because of the connection with the music. I found later on in the story, (my stories take over and write themselves usually) it applied even more than I realized because of the band's name. I won't mention the name of the band in here, because it's part of the surprise ending. Me:  You're mostly known for your Romance stories. How would you describe your writing style? Hot, suspenseful, sensual, sw...

Myths About Writers

Afternoon Folks, I thought we'd do a post to dispel some of the myths people seem to have about writers. I'll put the ones that first come to mind then y'all can chime in. Myth: Writing is a great way to make a lot of money. I'm not sure exactly how this one matriculated. Probably in the wake of some of the big best sellers (i.e. Stephen King, Anne Rice, Stephenie Meyer, JK Rowling, and the like) but most of the time writers put in more money for their writing than they do get out of it. Generally a writer doesn't make a ton of money unless somehow his/her book is a blockbuster hit and blasts through what the author owes in the advance (which is paid back to publishers through royalties). Most writers I've met and talked to are not millionaires. I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm saying it's not one of those things that's automatic. Myth: Writing Is Easy Anybody Can Do It. Okay, granted this isn't entirely a myth, but it's not ent...
