Book Review: "Aurora And The Enchanted Bookshop"

 HI Everyone!

I was given an ARC of Brittany Fichter's Aurora And The Enchanted Bookshop in exchange for an honest review.

As far as stars go:  I give it three stars.

I honestly wanted to like this one. After reading the blurb for it, I was excited. I signed up to be on the review team. (I did not receive any money or discounts for a review, I only received an Advanced Reader Copy, or ARC so that I could read it in order to review it. That's ALL I got for it, and that's ALL I agreed to).

In her previous book, Ella And The Enchanted Bookshop, Brittany Fichter did a good job of providing physical descriptions of her heroine, antagonist, hero, and those around her. However, in this one, I wasn't sure exactly what Aurora or her aunts looked like. I knew Aurora was shorter than the hero (Dr. Patrick) and the description of her emotions and actions were good, but physically I have no idea. Perhaps I missed the physical descriptions?

The agent (antagonist) wasn't as compelling as the stepmother was in Ella's book (the first book in this series). In Ella's book you just knew the stepmother was going to make a threat, carry it out, and it would be awful. In Aurora's story, the antagonist said stuff about knowing important people and other things (I don't want to put any spoilers)  but (without giving spoilers) in the end, she didn't seem as scary as Ella's stepmother, so that affected my opinion/review.

I've loved so many of Brittany Fichter's stories that it was hard to say that I didn't find this one as interesting or engrossing as some of her other work. And I feel like I'm letting her down by not having a more enthusiastic response. Perhaps other readers will say that I must be off my rocker and give Aurora And The Enchanted Bookshop a 4 or 5 star enthusiastic, bubbling over with positivity, type of review that I didn't feel I could give. I hope so. There seems to be several of those on Amazon, so I'm glad for the author's sake. I wish I could've been one of them.

Perhaps one of her future releases will be a 4 or 5 star rating for me. I really hope so. She's such a wonderful author.

Hope you all have a Fabulous Friday and A wonderful Weekend!
