MIA? Nah, Just BUSY!

Happy Memorial Day / Monday Everybody, Again I find myself apologizing for the silence on this blog. I really have been super busy. This past week was the last week of school for offspring, so I had that going on, as well as getting back to full speed after having a virus AND infection the week before. Now of course, you'll have to pardon more silence on my part as I prep this week for some family events I have coming up next week! I'm hoping after June 9th to be able to keep up better with the blog and every other "every day" thing I do. Life has been incredibly busy (some good ways, and some ways I could do without; i.e. virus/infection), but I have not forgotten my loyal readers! Not at all. The Lone Star Contest is coming to the deadline for entries (deadline is June 9, 2012). Please check it out and get your entry in. The prizes are really great, and an opportunity to come out to our annual conference is NOT to be missed (believe me, this is m

Quite Quotable!

Happy Tuesday All, It's so rainy and gloomy today, which is not cool. The rain is good, but the gloom? Not so much. So we're going to have to find ways to brighten things up in spite of the grayness outside. Yesterday, a writer-buddy of mine (and fellow blogger), Marsha,  posted a fun post with quotes . So I thought today I'd pull some of my favorite quotes from various sources and post them here: "Give me this moment. This precious chance."--Dr. Jekyll from the musical Jekyll & Hyde (song:  This Is The Moment ). "Fezzik, are there rocks ahead?" "If there are, we'll all be dead!" -- Inigo and Fezzik from movie, The Princess Bride . "I'm too sexy for my fangs."-- Gregori, from Kerrelyn Sparks'  book, Sexiest Vampire Alive . "We would call Monroe something else, except we don't want to want to insult donkeys." -- Bastian "Bast" Cantrell from my novel, Surreal . "I hav

Rumpelstilskin, Why?

Happy Monday All, Before I forget, Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the Moms. I hope it was great! Mine was nice--mostly relaxing. Congratulations to Tiffany, who won a copy of Beth Fantaskey's Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Dark Side last Friday! Sunday wasn't just Mother's Day, either. It was a Church day, also, of course, but, later in the evening in was the Season 1 Finale of ABC's Once Upon A Time . Yes, I watched it. Yes, I loved it, and I can't wait until the next season! I can sense this is going to go way deeper than I originally thought. Wouldn't you know? Rumpelstiltskin is causing trouble again. Not only did he create original curse, but he's also manipulated other situations. I think he suffers from a lack of confidence and self esteem--considering that before he came into his power, he wasn't looked upon very well by those in his village. However, he gave up his son, and the woman he met later (and fell in love with

Spotlight On Author: Beth Fantaskey

Happy Friday All, I'm sorry for all the silence! This week I was helping a friend with something and it took longer than I anticipated. But it's okay, I was happy to help her and well, what are friends for, right? ***GIVEAWAY PORTION OF THIS INTERVIEW IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE PARTICIPATED, THANK YOU TO BETH FANTASKEY AS WELL*** Today I have a special treat. This author has fast become one of my favorites. The two books of hers (she's got more than 2 published, but I've only read two of them so far--she does have a novella that is published on her website that is a prelude to the 2nd book I read by her), are very romantic, fun, suspenseful, and I really enjoyed them. Here's the great thing:  she's graciously agreed to not only do an interview, but also agreed to giveaway a copy of the first one that I read by her on my blog today. After the interview , I will post details about the giveaway and how to enter. Please be sure to read everythin

Laugh & Enjoy

Happy Monday Everyone, Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was relaxing--which, I desperately needed. This week I hope to post the author interview I did recently. It's a really good one and I was very excited this author agreed to do it. If you're in need of a good laugh, I highly recommend hot-footing it over to Query Shark for her most recent post. Click here to see it . I laughed and laughed. Other than that, I'm gearing up for another week. I'll have more later this week, for now... Have A Marvelous Monday!

Pardon The Silence...

Happy Wednesday All, So sorry I've been so silent lately! Monday offspring came home with a bug bite on the foot. We went to the doc's office and got some advice. Yesterday offspring had to stay home to stay off of the foot, but offspring is doing much better so back to school today! Whew. It wasn't fun, but at least it's better than it was. I'm over-the-moon happy because I have an author interview all set. Just trying to figure out what day to post it (the author gave me free reign for a date). Very good interview and I'm looking forward to posting it. At the end of this month Josephine Angelini's Dreamless (the sequel to Starcrossed ) will be out! Yep, I've pre-ordered it. The first book was so good I read it 3 or 4 times already and I'd read it again! I finished reading Nicholas Sparks' The Lucky One . It's a pretty good story. I still like A Walk To Remember and The Notebook best! I'm looking forward to seeing the
