It's One Week Until...

Happy Wednesday All,

While writing this, the Barenaked Ladies song, One Week is playing in my head. Why? Because today marks ONE WEEK before the July 10th release of my debut Romance novel, All's Fair In Love & Lion! (If I hear otherwise, I'll let you know, but I haven't heard that the date is any different).

The Soul Mate Publishing Blog post, and the Four Foxes One Hound are just the first two appearance in the blog tour. For more information on upcoming blog appearances, click here. I've been asked to be on another blog. So far the date is for July 16th, but I'll let you know once all the details get ironed out. I've already put it in the margins--it's Laugh. Love. Read. Blog, and I'll be the guest of NY Times Best Seller, Christie Craig (she's one of my chapter mates, and I think the world of her. Very talented writer, and really sweet).

This Thursday is also the 4th of July Independence Day for the USA. We don't have any special plans, however I got a fun light up spin-around toy thing that I think we'll have fun with in the evening. Offspring likes fireworks. I'm not always big on seeing them in person (traffic can be a real pain) but we'll see. We often watch the specials on TV, or stand outside and watch the fireworks our neighbors set off.  Do you have any special plans for the 4th of July?

Anyway...thank you to everyone who has come out to the blogs so far and commented. Each blog post is going to be different, so please don't fail to come out. Each comment on the blog on the various blogs (and this one) is also a big show of support and I appreciate each and every one them. Thank you!

Have A Tip-Top Tuesday!

Hi Bethany,

I also write Lion Shifters (well, Chimeras who can be lions or dragons) for Soul Mate. I saw the title of your release in the update and thought I'd stop by and say hello!:-)

Good luck with your release!

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I...

Spotlight On Author: Loretta Wheeler

Happy Tuesday Everyone, There's a gem of an author I've had the privilege of coming across...I'm talking about my friend, Loretta Wheeler. She's a sweetheart and very talented author. I enjoyed her YA Paranormal novella, The Pan Man immensely. And, she also writes Romance. So without further ado, come into my parlor and meet Loretta Wheeler: Me:  In your YA novelette, The Pan Man , you mention Pan's looking for his long lost soul mate. What made you choose Pan out of all the Greek/Roman gods and goddesses? Loretta:  I chose the Greek god Pan, because of the connection with the music. I found later on in the story, (my stories take over and write themselves usually) it applied even more than I realized because of the band's name. I won't mention the name of the band in here, because it's part of the surprise ending. Me:  You're mostly known for your Romance stories. How would you describe your writing style? Hot, suspenseful, sensual, sw...
