Rumpelstilskin, Why?

Happy Monday All,

Before I forget, Happy Belated Mother's Day to all the Moms. I hope it was great! Mine was nice--mostly relaxing.

Congratulations to Tiffany, who won a copy of Beth Fantaskey's Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Dark Side last Friday!

Sunday wasn't just Mother's Day, either. It was a Church day, also, of course, but, later in the evening in was the Season 1 Finale of ABC's Once Upon A Time. Yes, I watched it. Yes, I loved it, and I can't wait until the next season! I can sense this is going to go way deeper than I originally thought. Wouldn't you know? Rumpelstiltskin is causing trouble again. Not only did he create original curse, but he's also manipulated other situations. I think he suffers from a lack of confidence and self esteem--considering that before he came into his power, he wasn't looked upon very well by those in his village. However, he gave up his son, and the woman he met later (and fell in love with) for the sake of his power. So you have to wonder, is love enough to save him? Is he redeemable? I guess we'll have to wait to find out!

Did anyone else catch the Season 1 finale of Once Upon A Time? What did you think of it?

Have A Magical Monday!

Are you kidding?! Yes, taped it because the husband would not be home in time to catch the beginning and hunkered down immediately after it was finished to watch it.
"Emma" was so heartbreaking when she kissed her son'goodbye' that I just knew it would work. And when "Charming/James" was going back through town I said outloud, "He's going to call her 'Snow'!",but I still cried when he did!
As for "Mr.Gold/Ruplestiltskin",I don't know.I had hoped he was going to bring back his lost son with the 'True Love' magic, but that would have ended the series! I cried when he thought "Pinocchio" was his son.Just when he gets my sympathy, he gets mean again. I have trouble cojuring sympathy for 'Regina/The Queen' , although,I guess I should be able to. The writers really know their craft and how to get to us! I hear many other Disney fairy tale characters will show up next year, like Ariel and Mulan. Can't wait!

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
