One of my regular followers, Tonette, has 5 booklets with the first chapter of Janet Evanovich's newest Stephanie Plum novel, Smokin' Seventeen to give away. In order to enter the drawing you need to do the following:

2.  Either email me or leave your comment on here. If you can't post a comment, email me. Include your email address and first name.

Please note:  Blogger sometimes acts up for some people and not so much for others. If you can't post a comment, just email me

3.  Have your entry posted in the comment section are emailed to me no later than 10:30 p.m. Central Time. I will email the winners and Tonette will send the winners their prize.

Like I said there are FIVE (5) booklets of chapter 1 to give away, so I will draw 5 names in tonight's drawing.

Thank you to Tonette for this!

Have A Magical Monday!

You are welcome, Bethany; I am happy to add a little to the happiness I have enjoyed with 'Write by Bethany', and the new-found book 'friends' that you have introduced us to with your recommendations.
I entered a contest through Janet Evanovich's newsletter and was chosen to be an 'ambassador' to help spread Stephanie Plum cheer! If you are not familiar with this series, Janet E. gives enough background that you can pick up with the charaters, but since there are many recurring zanies, it would serve you to read the older ones.
And yes, though very far from hard-core erotica, there is adult humor and referrences.
I hope everyone has fun with this! Thank YOU, Bethany!

Tonette,

Aw, shucks. I'm just happy to share about the writing world, authors, and various other things that pop into my head. One day, I hope to be plugging my own books on here! What fun that will be. Thank you for your kind words and for coming by every day. I really appreciate it :-)

This will shock some, but I've never read any fiction by Evanovich. [I did read her book called "How I Write" which was compiled by an associate.]
That said, Please enter me in the drawing, because my wife LOVES Steph. Plum. and sometimes she reads me some of the zany parts.

This is a very fun contest and aren't you lucky that your followers love you so much they are willing to share being an ambassador with you! I've never read Janet, but I've listened to her. My husband and I were on the road one summer and we listened to one of her books. It was so funny! Peter was laughing out loud so hard, we pulled over in the shade to compose ourselves. Whoever read the part of her side kick was brillant!
I also met her briefly at Nationals in D.C.- she was funny there as well.

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I...

Spotlight On Author: Loretta Wheeler

Happy Tuesday Everyone, There's a gem of an author I've had the privilege of coming across...I'm talking about my friend, Loretta Wheeler. She's a sweetheart and very talented author. I enjoyed her YA Paranormal novella, The Pan Man immensely. And, she also writes Romance. So without further ado, come into my parlor and meet Loretta Wheeler: Me:  In your YA novelette, The Pan Man , you mention Pan's looking for his long lost soul mate. What made you choose Pan out of all the Greek/Roman gods and goddesses? Loretta:  I chose the Greek god Pan, because of the connection with the music. I found later on in the story, (my stories take over and write themselves usually) it applied even more than I realized because of the band's name. I won't mention the name of the band in here, because it's part of the surprise ending. Me:  You're mostly known for your Romance stories. How would you describe your writing style? Hot, suspenseful, sensual, sw...
