Great Jewelry Giveaway Tuesday: The Shadows Are Falling!

Happy Tuesday Everybody,

The contest portion of this post is now closed. Please feel free to enjoy the rest of the post and check out the author and jewelry combo and be sure to visit Kathy at Beadmore Designs to see how to purchase her lovely jewelry she has for sale.

Congratulations to Susan M. for being Monday's Great Jewelry Giveaway winner of the SURREAL Set.

But, nobody fret...the week's not over and I have more authors who are sponsoring more jewelry that you can enter to win.

Today's contest prize is sponsored by C.C. Hunter, author of the fabulous Born At Midnight, which is book 1 in the Shadow Falls Series.  A little about the series:  Kylie thought her life was normal, until she ended up with some weird stalker soldier dude, a camp full of paranormal teenagers, and Kylie is faced with one heck of an identity crisis. Who is she? Does she have any special powers? And just who is that stalker anyway? Start your journey with Kylie in Born At Midnight.

In honor of Born At Midnight, C.C. Hunter commissioned Kathy of Beadmore Designs to make this stunning necklace and jewelry set, nicknamed ShadowFalls #1, to giveaway in tonight's drawing:

ShadowFalls #1 Necklace & Earring set

Born At Midnight by C.C. Hunter

You can enter to win this beautiful necklace and earrings set one of two ways (and either way is fine, it's just you have two options):

1.  You can comment with your name and email address in the comment section below. Be sure to use the words "shadow" AND "falls" somehow in a sentence (be creative!) But you must use those words and you must include your email address.

2.  If you don't want to post publicly, you can send me an email but you must give me at least a first name and you also must use the words "shadow" AND "falls" in a sentence (use your imagination!)

Entries must be sent to me either in the comment section or through email by 10 p.m. Central Time. I'll put the names into a container and draw one winner. That winner I'll notify by email and then announce who it is on here on Wednesday's post.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email me.

Have A Thrilling Tuesday!

As much rain FALLS down
The baby robins hatch warm
In the porch SHADOW

Thought I'd make a haiku out of what is going on here! Robins nested on my porch, just across from the seldom-used front door and across from the all-night light. The male eyes us suspiciously through the fan-shaped window at the top of the door; the female seems more trusting...they don't seem to mind the cats at the lower windows.
Most of the schools are closed do to flash flooding. We had snow in the air all Winter,(although it did not accumulate to much depth), now rain all Spring. Very unusual.

My daughter adored this book. The moment I brought it home she slipped into the shadows and nothing could have distracted her, not even Niagra Falls!

So Cool!!
If any more rain falls in my area, I'm afraid my shadow is going to drown.

LOL...That was really dumb, but it's all I have, sorry. So tired of having a wet basement...

I already borrowed my copy of Shadow Falls to my nearly 12 year-old daughter, and I know she's going to love it. :-)

Now would be a great time to read a book like this. It's the best time of year to sit outside and read, now that it's spring. I'm so happy it was cloudy on Feb 2nd when Phil came out of his hole, so he didn't get scared. If his shadow falls on the ground in front of him he runs away, and we get more winter.

Yupp..very badly done, but it's so freaking beautiful outside today, I had to find a way to mention spring in there somehow.

Get Thee A Nom De Plume!

Good Evening One & All, Shakespeare wrote in Romeo & Juliet, "What's in a name?...A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Disney talked about names in Aladdin in the lyrics, "Better get a nom de plume ." (the song, "One Jump"). So, for a writer, what does a nom de plume (or, pen name) say about the author? It could be a different spelling of the author's name, it could be a name that has a significance. They could keep their first name, but change the last, or change both. A pen name is also the name a writer will write under for his or her books. The name that his or her readers will recognize them. The name on the autographs and the one where people will say, "Oh yes, that's so and so, they wrote..." Some authors write under their own names. Others, for a variety of reasons, choose a pen name. What about you? Are you considering a pen name? What have you looked at when thinking of your nom de plume ? For myself, I&
